About the HBCU Soul Food Popcorn Challenge

Popcorn with Purpose is a fundraising initiative created by the founder of the award-winning Soul Popped Gourmet Popcorn, the world’s first and only Soul Food-inspired, all-natural snack company. Our fundraiser’s expressed purpose is to assist underestimated and marginalized groups to fund raise for their worthwhile causes.

PWP is partnering with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) throughout the continental U.S. to raise money for their general scholarship funds and other student-centered programs. Three colleges/universities in the small, medium and large categories (based on Fall 2017 total enrollment numbers) will win a cash prize of up to $125,000 (up to $75,000 for 2nd place and $50,000 for 3rd place) based on sales during our inaugural fundraising cycle, which will kick off during Black History Month (February 1-28) 2019 and will run through March 17, 2019. (See complete rules and restrictions here).

The official HBCU Soul Food Popcorn Challenge flyer may be posted and shared nationwide through email and all forms of Social Media to garner maximum support. Supporters make their selection and indicate the college or university they are supporting during the checkout process.*

All orders will be shipped directly to supporters at the end of the fundraising cycle.

*Metadata will be used to tabulate total sales.
